Landscape to enhance the entrance..

Front Doors and Feng Shui

The placement of a home on property is most important in feng shui. It is advantageous for inviting opportunity and blessings into your life when the front door is visible. If you cannot see the front door, it is possible that you will have missed opportunities. It can be as simple as the postman bringing a package to the wrong door, and it taking you several days or weeks to discover it.

Having several visible ways to enter a house can leave a person confused. So it is most important to give the front door the most attention and make it the most inviting. Concentrate your landscaping to invite you along a path, add lighting for safety. Be sure that the path to the front door is free of clutter. In feng shui, we believe that the front door color needs to be vibrant. The best color is believed to be red because it is so energetic and catches your attention easily.

It is said in feng shui that when you are looking at the front door, it is the way the “world” views you. From inside the house, looking out the front door, this is the way you view the “world”.

We can add pots of fresh flowers to our steps leading to the front door, soft melodious chimes, and simple wreaths or inviting artwork to enhance the experience of entering our homes. The attention given to the front door is to remind you to consciously leave the chaos of the outside world behind you as enter your home. You are crossing over a threshold into your own inner, sacred space.

“Every spirit builds itself a house, and beyond its house, a world, and beyond its world, a heaven. Know then that the world exists for you.
